80th St ADU — a garage-conversion with a twist
This fun take on an ADU conversion has been designed to work with the existing structure of a two-car garage, while also offering a twist on a typical Accessory Dwelling Unit. The goal was to transform a typical garage into a dual-function living/working space while also creating a sense of warmth and identity in the new structure.
A wide sliding door set on the first floor living area provides a view of the newly-landscaped backyard while a spiral staircase leads to the secondary workspace in the spacious loft above. Incorporating the same color scheme as the main house, this ADU was designed to be both a statement itself and in harmony with the primary residence.
